To mark its 30th anniversary, Finnish circular economy company Etelä-Karjalan Jätehuolto Oy decided to surprise households with something practical: paper bio-waste bags, distributed via Suomen Suoramainonta Oy.
The objective was clear: encourage residents to use paper bags for bio-waste, as they are best suited to the company’s treatment process.
The result? A campaign that was noticed, remembered, and warmly received.
Customers spontaneously shared positive feedback and even asked where they could get more bags — a strong reminder that unaddressed mail and door drop media can do much more than inform. They can drive behaviour, support sustainability goals, and create positive brand engagement at household level.
This is a great example of direct mail being used not just as a communication channel, but as a practical touchpoint that connects circular economy objectives with everyday consumer behaviour.
We love seeing how smart, tangible and well-targeted door drop campaigns can deliver both impact and goodwill.
